Direct linking for affiliates websites

Maximize Your Efforts: Why Landing Pages Beat Direct Linking

Welcome to this week’s Idiomatic Affiliates newsletter! This week’s newsletter will focus on the concept of direct linking.

We’ve received several direct linking submissions from affiliates recently, and we want to shed some light on this strategy. In this newsletter, we’ll explain what direct linking is, suggest a more effective alternative, and discuss why it’s the better choice for maximizing your affiliate income.

What Is Direct Linking?

Direct linking is like a fast-track from a traffic source (like an ad) directly to an offer (like our translation order form), with no landing page in between. It’s a quick and easy way to set up campaigns, but it has its limitations.

Why Landing Pages Are the Better Choice

While direct linking might seem tempting, we strongly recommend using dedicated landing pages on your website, LinkedIn, Instagram, or other platforms. Here’s why:

  1. Add Value and Stand Out: With direct linking, you’re just another affiliate sending traffic to the same offer. It’s tough to differentiate yourself and build long-term profitable campaigns. Landing pages allow you to provide valuable information, build trust, and showcase your expertise.
  2. Optimize for Conversions: Direct linking offers little room for optimization. With a landing page, you can experiment with different layouts, calls to action, and content to boost conversion rates and maximize your earnings.
  3. Explain and Educate: Translation services are often complex and require further explanation. A landing page gives you the space to address common questions, highlight use cases, and guide potential clients towards a purchase.

Our Suggestion from Idiomatic Affiliates

Create informative landing pages that educate visitors about translation services and showcase the value you bring. Then, embed your affiliate link on the page, or collect information through a custom form and place the order yourself.

Remember: it doesn’t matter who pays for the translation. As long as the order is placed through your affiliate link, you’ll get credit for the commission.
