Idiomatic Affiliates is your way to make passive income -- 20% commission.

The Single Most Important Key to Your Affiliate Commissions

Hello Affiliates,

Today, we’re covering something very basic, yet absolutely fundamental to your success: How to successfully place your translation order and ensure you get paid.

Understanding How Affiliate Software Works

First, let’s briefly explain the technology that tracks your hard work. Affiliate software uses two main tools to track commissions:

  1. Unique URL Slugs: Every affiliate is assigned a unique URL link that contains a special identifier (a slug or code). When you use this link, our system knows exactly who sent the traffic.
  2. Cookies: When a user (whether it’s your client or you ordering on their behalf) clicks your unique link, a small file called a “cookie” is placed on their web browser. This cookie tells our system which affiliate should be credited for the sale, even if the purchase is completed hours or days later.

The Key to Your Commission: Your Affiliate Link

The key to the entire affiliate program—and to your success—is properly using your affiliate link.

Whether you embed the link directly onto your website for passive sales, or you provide “White Glove” service and order the translation on behalf of your client, where your order is placed is fundamental.

If an order is not placed through your unique link, and if we don’t have a prior arrangement for tracking your commissions, we won’t know you earned the commission, and you will lose out on that money.

We don’t want that to happen because you work hard and deserve every penny.

How to Find Your Affiliate Link

If you’ve misplaced your link, or need to quickly reference it, here is the simple process:

  1. Log into your affiliate account.
  2. Click “Dashboard” on the top menu.
  3. On the dashboard, go to the “Affiliate URLs” section.
  4. Copy the link enclosed in the “Referral URLS” section.

See the below screenshot for reference.

IMPORTANT: The Referral URL in the screenshot is A TEST link, so the web address is different than yours.

That copied URL is the precise link you must use to place your order.

A Crucial Note: Even if you’re logged into the affiliate site and click “Order a Translation” on the top menu, that will not automatically apply your affiliate link.

An easy change in your routine can ensure you get credited every time.
