The Context: Why the UGE is Scrutinizing Remote Online Notarizations (RON) 

The UGE maintains strict standards regarding the authenticity of financial proof, such as Bank Movements Certificates and bank statements.

While Remote Online Notarization (RON) has gained widespread popularity in the U.S. for its convenience, Spanish immigration authorities are showing increased skepticism toward RON-signed financial records.

The Core Problem with RON for Bank Files:

• Verification Thresholds: Bank statements are among the most frequently altered records in international visa processing.
• Lack of Tangible Permanence: UGE examiners are expressing concern that purely digital RON signatures lack the physical, tangible verification standards required to guarantee a bank document’s origin and prevent tampering.
• The Risk: Documents relying solely on a digital notary seal or RON stamp risk being heavily scrutinized, flagged, or rejected outright.

The Pivot: Transitioning to the “Wet-Ink” Contingency
